The origins of the museum date back to 1896; the first museum exhibition was opened in 1898. Nowadays, the museum features many exciting exhibits such as a part of the Duchcov bronze treasure from the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC in the exhibition called "The History of Duchcov Town". Many other interesting and themed exhibitions are organised in the Poppel Exhibition Hall, and you might like to visit the museum research room, featuring a display of B. Marr writings on Giacomo Casanova.
