Since 1991, art enthusiasts have been able to visit art exhibitions in the Jirkov Gallery. The gallery's 100 m² of space features various exhibitions and displays. Since September 2000 a permanent exhibition of paintings, depicting the local countryside, has been staged in the gallery. The paintings are by a local, academically trained painter Jan Plíva, who comes from Červený Hrádek, nowadays a part of Jirkov. Some of the exhibits were loaned by Chomutov Museum, some by the town of Jirkov. The interconnected rooms are ideal for organising exhibitions; there are about eight exhibitions organised every year. The gallery usually features the work of artists who have some connection with the local region. Each exhibition opening is a cultural event when the visual arts are complemented with a musical performance. The history of Jirkov is presented in the gateway of the gallery house; other displays can be found on the walls around.
