This is the highest located golf course in Bohemia. The golf course is situated on the very ridge of the Krušné Mountains, at 870 metres above sea level, only a short distance away from Cínovec, the border crossing to Germany. The border area is very peaceful now - no more shooting guns. The golf course offers exquisite views over the countryside and the mountainous climate is simply superb. Some might say it is rather fresh here, and yes there is a constant wind blowing, so whilst down in the valleys golfers are already teeing off, here we might just as well go cross-country skiing. However, on a sultry summer day, there is no better place to be than here. Apart from the unique natural conditions, Cínovec playground is quite remarkable due to its character. It was created without any major financial subsidies; it is a sports field that was created by the locals for the locals. Many golfers have their second and first homes close to the golf course; some cottages are right next to the fairways, so should you happen to land your golf ball in the middle of someone's garden, rest assured that they will be understanding. Thanks to the elevated plateau the course is relatively flat, but it is far from easy. The thick mountainous grass near the fairways might give you a spot of trouble, and there are wetlands near holes 1 and 2 that might remind you of the Šumava Mountains bogs. Players must be able to adapt to rough wind conditions and to the more natural feel of fairways. There are not many bunkers here, but the greens are not very big. To be able to play with precision from difficult positions is a pre-condition for a good score. On the other hand, the pleasant atmosphere at the golf course will make everyone feel good, regardless their score. Cost-sensitive players will be pleased that this golf course is one of the cheapest in the country.
