Pavlína's Valley is the only rocky mine along the Chřibská Kamenice Stream. The valley and the river are situated amidst the beautiful countryside behind the village of Jetřichovice. The valley became a natural landmark in 1993.
If you are looking for a short, but beautiful walk through peaceful woods and along a stream, do not hesitate a minute longer and head for Pavlína's Valley and it will be an unforgettable memory for you as it has been for others.
You can explore the valley from two directions. Either you will set out from Jetřichovice following the red marked route and head for the village of Studený or you will start in Studený and go the other way round.
Although the valley is only 3.5 km long, you will not find it boring or disappointing. Both sides of the path and the Chřibská Kamenice River are lined with sandstone rocks, creating beautiful scenery. No wonder that on 4 January 1993 this area was declared a nature reserve, in order to protect the canyon of the river. The nature reserve covers approximately 163 hectares. The protection extends to the rare plant species that you are likely to spot during your walk. In particular, Corydalis cava, Chrysosplenium oppositifolium, Thalictrum aquilegiifolium. There is also some rare fauna to be found in this area.
From a geomorphological perspective the Chřibská Kamenice canyon is a phenomenon of great esthetic value. Explore this unspoilt countryside, take a rest from the city, forget about your problems and enjoy the beautiful rocks and rivers.
There is nothing to wait for, head for Czech Switzerland, the most precious gem around.
