Kyšperk Castle, also known as the Castle of Vultures, used to be found in the woods above the suburb of Krupka - Unčín. This stronghold was built to guard the local area and we know that already at the beginning of the 14th century it was guarding the borders and the old postal road known as the Kyšperk Road, or the Smugglers' Road. Until the beginning of the 15th century the castle was the property of Prague bishops and archbishops. In 1520 Kyšperk was bought by the Glatz family from Krupka. Six years later the castle burned down and it remained desolate. Kyšperk Castle is a popular tourist destination. A blue marked tourist trail leads to the castle and then continues past the Kotelní Lake across Komáří vížka all the way to the mountain village of Fojtovice.
