In 2002 Litoměřice brewery was shut down and it took nine years for beer to be brewed again in the town. At the end of January the new Labuť minibrewery came into operation and it is not the only brewery in the region. The minibrewery makes three types of beer. The annual production is 600 hectolitres. Only yeasty non-filtered beer is made and Pilsen style lagers. The brewery is also planning on making various specials from time to time. So far there is no name for the beer and a public opinion poll will decide. The beer can only be bought in the brewery pub which is a part of the brewery complex. The brewery should become one of the tourist attractions of the town. Since the end of February 2011, guided tours round the brewery have been available for tourists. The owners of the brewery and the town representatives have been working very closely to open the brewery for tourists. There should also be an exhibition on the history of wine making in the town, which should be opened in spring 2011 in the newly repaired Gothic Castle.
