From the geological perspective Lovoš is formed by basaltic rock. However, the neighbouring hill of Lovoš, called Kybička or Small Lovoš, being 80 m lower, is of clinkstone formation. The southern and southwestern slopes of the mountain are dominated by rocky and screed parts covered in grass and steppe and shrubby forest and steppe vegetation. The top of Lovoš offers beautiful and unique circular views not only over the Labe Lowlands but also the České středohoří Mountains (Central Bohemian Uplands) and even the tops of even more distant mountains.
The top of Lovoš can be accessed from several directions. There is a green marked route from Lovosice to Lovoš, taking you in places on a rather narrow path and down a steep hill. Directly from the village of Opárno you can join the blue marked path that will also take you to the top, for most of the route you will also follow the nature trail from Malé Žernoseky via the Opárenské Valley. From the lower part of the valley you will ascend via the 'Imperial Stairs' following a yellow marked path. The yellow path links up with the blue one in the saddle by Kibička Hill. The yellow marked path from Košťálov via Boreč and Bílinku connects here as well.
