Dr. E. Beneš square in the historic part of the town is surrounded by townhouses in the Classicist and Empire style, built at the end of the 18th century. The corner house in the lower part of the square (No. 10) is the oldest building in the town. The Abbey of the Benedictines of Postoloprty used to be here at the end of the 12th century, and the town was built up around it. The monks built the Church of the Divine Body of the Lord, and later a hospital for the poor, and in 1872-1945 the place became the headquarters of the Thun estate. The current facade of the building is Empire, decorated with ceramic coats of arms. Building No. 182 is next to this house; this is where the town brewery brewed beer until 1866; and there is also Löffler Chateau Bakery No. 12 with a nice Empire facade. There is a Lion's Fountain in the middle of the square by Jan Brokoff, and the Most Holy Trinity Column, which is incorrectly called the plague column, but it was erected in 1694 as an expression of thanks to divine forces who helped to avert the plague.
