Our starting point is the village of Jetřichovice with a hiking trail crossroad going either to the Bohemian Switzerland National Park or to the Lužické Mountains. The charming character of this picturesque village is further enhanced by timbered buildings, and the valuable Church of St. John Nepomucký.
We take the road to Chřibsko and follow it for 8 km. Right from the start we begin to climb uphill. After our climb through the woods takes us about 1.5 kilometre from Jetřichovice, we may rest for a while and take a look at some sculptures of dwarfs carved from the rocks, located on our left hand side. From the village of Rynartice, which offers nice views of the surrounding countryside, we will ride down to the valley of Chřibská Kamenice. We continue along the river through the village of Na Potoce, and as we cross over a small hill, find ourself at the beginning of Dolní Chřibská. Here, we follow the road sign instructions and take a left turn towards Doubice. We pass by several half-timbered houses and gradually climb uphill for about 1 km. After we complete our downhill ride we will see a tourist information centre near the U Sloupu (U Saula) crossroad sign. Leaving the road we make a left and begin to follow trail No. 3029 to the Bohemian Switzerland Natural Park. The nature that surrounds us immediately lets us know that we are in a park. We continue with a rather comfortable climb through the mysterious rocks scattered around the woods. To overcome the last 0.5 km to the meadow called Na Tokáni we have to peddle a little bit harder again. Hunting cottages and a small chateau were built here in the 19th century. The entire complex burned down in 1905, and was built again in the Alpine style. In the former hunting chateau we can currently find a restaurant where we may refresh ourselves. Rested and refreshed we continue along trail No. 3029 towards Mezní Louka. After about 2 km we face a sharp downhill ride through a narrow canyon – "Táborový důl" (Camp mine)lined on both sides with huge rocks. The remaining 1 kilometre of this trip we go slightly downhill through a wider valley called "Mokrý důl (Wet mine)". At the crossroad sign on trail No. 3030 we take a right turn and follow "Česká silnice" (Czech road) until we reach the former village of Zadní Jetřichovice. From the extinct village which was built on the bank of Křinický Brook, we can today only find an information board and a drawing of an old tourist pub, which used to be here. A meadow may be found to the right side of the rest place, where we can enjoy a nice view of a massive rocky wall standing on the opposite riverbank which separates the Czech Republic from Germany. Here we will ride through the picturesque "Hlubokého dolu (Deep mine)" Valley. We start on a nearly flat plain but after about 2.5 km begin climbing sharply. After a 0.5 kilometre long climb we come to a crossroad where we begin another climb (500 m long) all the way toMalá Pravčická brána (Small Pravčická gate) (viewing post). From now on we will continue downhill only, all the way to Mezní Louka. The small village of Mezní Louka is today a centre of tourism and the main starting point for many of the marked hiking trails going into Bohemian Switzerland. After possible refreshments (which are available here) we head down towards the nice valley of Dlouhá Bělá, all the way to Hřensko. The Hřensko border village is located on the right riverbank of the Elbe River in a deep rocky valley near the Kamenice River. Today, the village is booming with tourism so we can find a wide range of restaurants and hotels here. At the beginning of Hřensko, near the Klepáč Hotel, where Bělá joins the Kamenice River, we take a left turn as instructed by the road sign and follow it towards Janov. We are climbing rather steeply while travelling around Janovské vyhlídka (Janovská viewing post) (offering nice views of Hřensko) all the way to Janova where we cannot miss the left turn towards Růžová. Now, we are mostly riding downhill through a rugged landscape with beautiful views of Růžovský vrch (Růžovský Hill). Before the village of Růžová we will begin climbing but only for a short time. From this picturesque village, with the renovated Church of St. Peter and Paul, we follow the road sign instructions and go towards Česká Kamenice (Czech Kamenice). We make a short climb to the peak of Petřín Hill with its windmill and then continue further through the slightly hilly countryside. To reach Srbská Kamenice and the influx of Bynovecký Brook and the Kamenice River, we take a pleasant downhill ride during which we may admire another peak of volcanic origin – Strážiště. We shall ride through this picturesque "brook" village with its numerous single and two-storey half-timbered houses, swarming with tourists before continuing towards Jetřichovice. We will ride on a rather comfortable road taking us through beautiful countryside along the wild Kamenice River and along the meandering Chřibská Kamenice River. We pass through the village of Všemily and, as we continue to Jetřichovice, face our last climb and our last downhill ride. Total length 47 km.
