We will take a train and get off in Nová Ves u Křimova, 13 km from Chomutov. We can park our car in the village and take a walk through the beautiful countryside in a romantic and mysterious valley. Many beautiful sites awaits us...
We shall find the red sign in the village and start to follow it towards the railway station. From the station we will follow the blue sign towards Úbočí. After 2 km we will reach the Pod Celnou guesthouse. Here, we will cross the road and pass by cottages into the valley of Prunéřovský Brook. In the valley we will pass by several rocks, rapids and water cascades.
After about 15 minutes we come to a crossroad sign with yellow sign, which we shall take later on our way back from the Hasištejn castle in order to reach the city of Výsluní. But first, we shall climb uphill to reach Hasištejn Castle. On the top of the hill in the forest and in front of the castle we will notice a defence watch tower, which we will examine shortly. Then we walk down from the tower, cross the nearby parking lot and continue towards Hasištejn Castle (http://www.hasistejn.cz/). After paying a symbolic entrance fee we may examine the castle ruins in more detail. We should not miss the stone tower, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
After visiting the castle we will go back to the city of Výsluní and then continue towards the Výsluní railway station. If you feel tired you may wait for the train at the forest stop or you may continue further down and across the railway crossing all the way to the crossroad with a red sign pointing towards the Farský Woods. From here we walk for about 4 km on an asphalt road towards Nová Ves.
The total length of the trip is 20 km..
