At first, the path goes through slightly hilly countryside, then through a narrow valley and finally, it climbs along the direction of the Elbe canyon Porta Bohemica offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and then falls down back to the Elbe river.
We shall begin on a main road in Velemín near a restaurant and follow the road towards Chotiměř. Behind the railway crossing /> you will make a left turn towards the railway station Chotiměř and then straight towards the railway track via roadway slightly down to the road that will take you to Chotiměř.
Near the restaurant and in front of the chapel you will make a right turn and go between a little pond and fire station and continue towards Oparenské valley. Right behind the first railroad underpass you will meet your blue sign again, which will guide you all the way to the Oparno railway stop. You keep walking along the Milešovský brook and towards the end you start following the yellow sign which will take you all the way to Malé Žernoseky. Before you reach the village you will leave the small road and make a sharp left turn and begin to follow a roadway which will take you uphill. On your right hand side you will see a football field. You will pass by a right turn and continue towards the Kubo mine and after while you make a right turn and go around a power line pole. After 100 meters you will find yourself on the slopes of the canyon Porta Bohemica. Make sure to stay in the upper section of the canyon.
Near and slightly above Litochovice you will see a turn going towards a viewing rock (panoramic views from Vaňovský peak to the left across Radobýl all the way to he Říp mountain. On the right side in the distance, across the Elbe river you will see Calvary with three crosses surrounded by many legends). Then you will go down all the way to Litochovice nad Labem. A yellow sign joins us from the left side and you will follow it all the way to the railway stop. Below the railway track and little bit farther back to the road you will find a restaurant.
A legend is linked to this Devil viewing post. This legend says that a devil and a fisherman from the village bet that the devil will build a bridge across the Elbe river overnight. But because the Devil could not succeed in this very difficult terrain, the enraged devil destroyed his futile attempts but the largest section of the bridge remained until today in a form of a cliff reaching over the Elbe river. You may get to this place by following the yellow sign, starting in the local library and going up through the woods above the track. After walking for about 1 km on a forest path you will reach a prefect place for relaxation or to enjoy magnificent views of the countryside.
