Brana do Čech

Before we start our trip, it is good idea to remember that movement in the sandstone rock town can give you a whole new experience, but it also requires discipline, which all visitors must observe. That concerns children as well. This shall apply to the protection of the unique environment as well as to the protection of your own health.

The second circuit will take us around to see all the beauties of this unique rock town. However, this trip should be taken by families experienced in hiking and mountain trips and by people who are used to being in rock towns. Like the previous trip, this trip also begins at the box office above the village. From the box office we take the red sign towards "On the Mountain Ridge". We walk through a closed rock square, build up some courage and climb up to the rocky ridge. The ridge is almost 1 km long. Exercise extra caution when walking on the ridge. We will get rewarded for our efforts and get to see many aerial views of the distant rock towers and terraces from cliffs up to 70 m high. From the rocky ridge we will go down and around the Rocky Mushroom and walk towards a Tourist Cottage, where we can refresh ourselves. Then we go back, but this time we will follow the educational trail signs. A short distance after the Rocky Mushroom, the ET will take us down to a steep staircase which will bring us inside the rock town, where we shall examine the world of rock pillars, towers, narrow ravines, caves and rock squares. This section is about 1.5 km long and if you want to explore this rock town thoroughly, be aware that it will take you at least 2 hours.
