History lovers might like to visit the ruins of a small Gothic castle situated on an elevated plane above the Dolánecký Stream near Rohozec in Podbořany. The ruins show the outlines of the castle that was situated on a circular hillock; on the northern side the castle was surrounded by a deep double moat. The main castle area with a square courtyard consisted of a main stone building of a rectangular shape and rounded corners. The first known owner of Křečov Castle was the outlaw knight Racek in 1338. In 1421 during the crusade campaign against Žatec the castle was taken. The lord of the castle, Diviš Senior was captured. In around 1510 the castle and the village was bought by Jiří Nebřeský. At that time the castle was so run down it was not fit for living in. The owner soon moved to his stronghold in Vroutek and Křečov Castle was left to its fate. Written documents from 1543 describe the castle as a desolate ruin.
